" Let ithers try For fish to fry, At saxteen pence a score; Our creels we'll get, Our creels we'll set, An' bring the crabs ashore.
For crabs are meat
An' crabs are drink
To fisher-folk, we say,
An' fifty dizzen at the least
Are in the creels the day."
There are many more verses, all with the same quaint refrain, but I think the sentiment is pretty well expressed in those I have given. |
